Croatia surpassed its target of 31 percent renewable energy consumption by 2020

Renewable energy will account for 22 percent of eu energy consumption in 2020, two percentage points higher than the target, eurostat reported on January 20.Sweden tops the list with more than 60 percent of its renewable energy consumption, followed by Finland at 44 percent and Latvia at 42 percent.At 31 per cent, Croatia is on a par with Denmark and Estonia.Malta, Luxembourg and Belgium are at the bottom of the list, with a share of around 11-13 per cent.All EU countries except France met or exceeded their 2020 targets for renewable energy consumption, with Croatia and Sweden making the most progress, each beating the target by 11 percentage points.
